¡Dios Mios! What a
man. Some of my favorite male characters
are bossy, controlling alpha males who have a soft spot for their woman. And that’s exactly what we get in I Don’t.
Mateo Cruz was absolutely delicious.
Not only was he all of the above; he’s possessive and protective. Also, the man is Spanish and often lapses
into Spanish. Panties melted. He’s definitely what made this book for me. Avelina (or Ava) was confrontational,
resentful and definitely determined not to take him back. The chemistry between these two was really
only evident in their sex scenes. But
you could definitely feel the love.
My only pet peeves really are that one; the flashbacks made
the story drag a little for me, especially the first one. It felt more like an info dump than a
flashback. The second is that it seemed
a little bit too smooth of a journey back.
We had the flashbacks to the events leading up to the accident but other
than that it’s really low on the drama scale.
Normally I like that, but this was a little too low. I needed a little
bit more action. The character
development was decent. Both Ava and
Mateo had backstories and some strengths and weaknesses. The secondary characters were okay. Being as this is the first of a series, I
wish I had seen more of the brothers.
Maybe will get more glimpses as the series goes on. As of now the only one I’m really interested
in reading about is Rafe.
If you like sweet, borderline cheesy, romances then
definitely pick this one up. Fox does
manage to pack some heat into it to balance the sweetness. -Peace and Love, Buxom J

With my free hand, I pinched my thigh, wincing at the twinge of pain. Dammit, I was awake. No, no, no, I chanted inwardly as I started to panic. I was nowhere near ready to deal with him. Surely he wouldn’t have tracked me down at work. With me gone, he should be living the bachelor life to the fullest, so busy dealing with his social calendar that thinking of me was impossible. I prayed that there was some kind of mistake or that whoever was on the phone wasn’t him. Maybe it was someone calling for another Ava. That could happen, right? “His voice,” I whispered. “Does he sound—” “Spanish?” Ben supplied. “Yeah.” I’d been about to ask if he sounded like a stubborn son-of-a-bitch, but Spanish told me what I needed to know.
