I can never read too many friends to lovers stories. It’s probably my favorite trope; I just love the history within them. Next to You is probably one of my favorite reads of the year in this category. I’m still smiling from reading it. It just made me happy. There wasn’t angst, no huge overwrought drama…just two best friends falling in love. It was a needed breath of fresh air after some heavy angsty reading in the past month. Next to You is incredibly sweet and sexy. It’s the perfect romance.

I love Stan the Man Bun. Who wouldn’t? He’s a rugby player, has a sexy accent, is adorable when high on pain meds and close with his mum. Sage seems to be his perfect counterpoint. Don’t let her name fool you; she’s not some hippy dippy chick. She’s badass. And the side characters are great too. I want Easley to get his own book, I can just imagine the mischief he’d get into. And I hope Landon gets some comeuppance, like an STD. I laughed and grinned throughout the whole book. It was over too soon, I wanted more.. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
