  SYNOPSIS

A TRUE STORY told through the voice of New York Times Bestselling author E.K. Blair.

She’s an author. She’s a mother. She’s a wife. She’s a fraud. A woman marked and bound by her own deceit, this is the astounding tale of how one choice knocked her world from its axis forcing her to battle through a year of scandal and betrayal, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. This is an intoxicatingly risqué stand-alone true story tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition. "A scandalous tell-all and cautionary tale penned by E.K. Blair but based on the true-life story of another romance author. Author Anonymous is based entirely on real events that transpired in the life of another New York Times best-selling romance author. Blair was approached by Anonymous to pen the work, as it was perceived as too illicit, and possibly too damning, for Anonymous to write herself." -New York Daily Post

Review

I knew when I read the blurb that Author Anonymous wasn’t going to be an easy read or a pretty one.  I just wasn’t completely expecting the journey that it would take me on personally.  It was an emotional and moral one.  Several times I had to put my Kindle down, walk away for a few moments and take a break.  Truthfully, at times I didn’t think I would finish it.  But I’m a compulsive reader; rarely a is there book that I start that I don’t finish.  So I kept reading.

Tori is a best-selling romance author, married for over a decade with two children.  But she and her husband are so busy they are like ships passing in the night.  And a single decision alters life for them all.  On one hand, I can understand Tori’s feelings when she talks about life getting in the way of romance in her marriage.  But the decisions she makes?  I can’t understand them and that’s where my morals come in to play.   I just couldn’t connect with her after the first few chapters.  I was angry and disappointed in her.  I ended up rooting for Landon.

E.K. Blair took a real life story and weaved an exquisite tale of gut wrenching heartbreak, devastation and pain.  Reading it was like standing on the side of the road as you watched a car accident happen in slow motion.  It left me feeling helpless, angry, heartbroken and dirty.  However, personal feelings aside, the book is beautifully written, the characters draw out strong feelings and you will become invested in the book.  Hell, I didn’t even like the main character and E.K. Blair was still able to draw tears from me.  That’s talent for you.

This isn’t a book for someone who likes sunshine and rainbows.  It’s a difficult book to read emotionally.  It’ll rub you raw, anger you and make you question things.  But if you can handle that, then I recommend it.  -Peace and Love, Buxom J

This review is not going to be an easy one to write for. It also isn’t going to be an easy one for you to decipher. I am sorry for what is about to spew from my fingers. We will call it textual word vomit, because that is exactly what it is.

Tori is an up and coming author, mother, wife, and friend. She has been married to Landon for 8 years and together for 13 and they have two beautiful daughters together. Landon is a sous chef who is finally catching his break and begins to work long hours while his wife. Tori, is trying to keep her name relevant in the world of indie authors. After a trip to Vegas and a social chat with some of her fellow authors she decides to do some research on a fetish website and everything spirals from there.

Victoria, Tori, or Tor. Whatever you want to call her. I hate her. I hate everything she stands for but at the same time I feel for her. I could never imagine being in a relationship where I felt as if I did not love the other person anymore. On the same note, I do not understand the thrill in cheating on your husband or lying to the people who love you. No matter my views on the context in this book I really did enjoy EK Blair’s writing, as always. I can not imagine how hard this book was to write and put out their for everyone to judge her on. There will be many people who will boycott Blair’s books because of the content she chose to wrote and for that I am sorry for them. You are missing out an amazing author. The words that EK Blair wove into this book made me scream, laugh, cry, and contemplate so much about my own life. I ended Author Anonymous raw, broken, and aching for closure. I encourage everyone to read it. Even if you won't like it, you will love it. - Daddy L
