Review
This has been a summer of amazing debut books! Here’s another one for you. I thoroughly enjoyed Seventeen Days. A New Adult
novel by debut author D.B. James, I found it to be well-written with an
engaging storyline that drew me in from the very beginning. I have to tell you the truth, the Prologue
had me dreading what was going to happen in this book. I was biting my nails throughout it. I was expecting a lot heavier angst then what
I got. But don’t get me wrong, James
covers some heavy hitting stuff.
I loved the characters in this book. The main characters, Harrison and Morgan, had
really well thought out backstories and were complex people with flaws. And there were no simpering misses here,
Morgan was feisty as hell. I loved
watching her take no nonsense from Harrison.
Harrison was a confident, sexy as hell cowboy. If you got a thing for a man in cowboy boots,
this is the guy for you.
And while there was no heavy angst for me, this book did
take me on a rollercoaster of emotions.
I felt a lot while reading this—anger, heartache, grief, love—you name
it I probably felt it. It is a
spectacular debut novel. I cannot wait
to read more from this author. Another
one to add to my watch list. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
