Synopsis: He’s Paxton Wilder.Twenty-two-year-old, tattooed, smoking-hot leader of the Renegades.
Five time X Games medalist.
The world is his playground—especially this year—and for the next nine months I’m stuck as his tutor on the Study at Sea program.
He’s too busy staging worldwide stunts for his documentary to get to class.
But if I can’t get him to take academics seriously, I’ll lose my scholarship…if I don’t lose my heart first.
Six unlikely friends on a nine-month cruise with the Study at Sea program will learn that chemistry is more than a subject and the best lessons aren’t taught in the classroom…but in the heart.
Review
Rebecca Yarros takes you on a ride of a lifetime with Wilder.
What an adventure she packs into this book! It’s full of action, steamy romance, suspense—a
little something for everyone. Leah
Baxter got the opportunity of a lifetime.
A year of college at sea, paid for through work study. And not just for her, her best friend gets to
come along too. This is just what she
needs to help her live again after a rough few years.
Paxton Wilder is an adrenaline junkie and an Xtreme Sports
competitor. His dad wants him to finish college;
he just wants to keep doing what he’s doing.
So a deal was struck. Paxton has
to pass this year of college with good grades and his dad will finance a movie
about the stunts Paxton and his team like to do. So he finagles an at sea program so he make the movie, do the stunts and go to college at the same time.
I loved this book! Watching
as Leah learns to live again and blossoms under Paxton’s care was rewarding. She had her fears and good reasons for them. But she was strong as well. And then there was Paxton himself. I found him charming, sweet and romantic. He was all about his friends. You could tell that the bond he had with them
meant the world to him. He definitely
got me swooning along with Leah. The
chemistry between them was hot and steamy.
The suspense aspect added a lot to the story, it definitely
kept me engaged. There were some twists
and turns that I wasn’t expecting. I
love it when that happens! And I loved
the secondary characters, The Renegades and the hanger-on’s. They helped round out the story. This is definitely going on my favorites
shelf. I plan on re-reading this one and
probably soon. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
