As always, I love reading a new to me author. This was my first Kimberly Loth book and I
was excited to dive in. I was extremely
lucky in that, despite being part of a series, it wasn’t necessary to read the
first two books. The characters from the
other books do make an appearance but they aren’t an integral part of the
story.
Bethany was sweet, shy and slightly awkward. I can feel her pain at losing her parents and
having to struggle to try to save her family home. Her despair is palpable. My heart hurt for her. Jamie was her knight in shining armor. He was charming, caring and playful. While there wasn’t a whole lot of character
development, the plot really didn’t call for it. And the characters were relatable without
it. The secondary characters were just
as great. I loved Bunny, she was great
comic relief.
I found the story to be cute and flirty. There was humor and low drama. It was a little too clean for my usual tastes
but I didn’t find myself missing the sex…much.
The story was enough to keep me entertained. It was heartwarming and smile inducing. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
