Blog Tour: Ink Exposed - Carrie Ann Ryan

InkExposed300 (1)

The Montgomery Ink series continues with the brother that deserves a second chance, and the woman who has always loved him.

Alex Montgomery lost his first love and then proceeded to leave himself in the bottle. Only he and his ex-wife truly know why he fell so hard and so fast down a path he never thought he’d take. Now he’s clean, out of rehab, and learning how to be a Montgomery once again—a task that isn’t quite as easy as some of his family assumes.

Tabby Collins is an honorary Montgomery and the organizational mastermind behind Montgomery Inc., the family’s construction company. She loves her planners, friends, and a certain dark-haired man who’s never given her a second glance.

Alex is slowly re-immersing himself back into the world, but the demons he faced before aren’t out of the picture, and he’ll have to learn to rely on others to make it out whole. When Alex discovers that Tabby’s life is in danger, he not only finds a way to help her but also learns the true woman behind the soft smiles he’s always seen. Their romance won’t be an easy one, but nothing this passionate and heart-pounding ever is.

Review

I haven’t read all of the Montgomery Ink series but I couldn’t help but jump on Alex’s story as soon as I saw it.  I was just too excited to see his story.  This was a heartbreakingly real and raw story about the struggle to find your place again.  It hit me right in the feels.  I was captivated and entertained from the very beginning.

Alex is the perfect mixture of strength and vulnerability.  He’s the brooding alpha hero, tortured and sexy.  Tabby is compassionate and sweet.  She has her own burdens to bear but is the perfect counterpoint to Alex.  The connection between them vibrates with chemistry and tension.  They are very relatable and real.  They have flaws and make mistakes.   The secondary characters are just as great—you get to see the whole gang from the rest of the series.  Someone please tell me books with Tabby’s brothers are in the works?

Ryan has done a wonderful job pulling back the veil on addiction and how it affects not only the person addicted but those who love them.   Alex’s struggles are very realistic and portrayed with honesty.  As the family member of an alcoholic, I appreciated that the disease wasn’t glossed over.   I can’t wait to continue reading the rest of the Montgomery Ink stories, Carrie Ann Ryan is definitely becoming one of my go-to authors for amazing stories and sexy tattooed men.  -Peace and Love, Buxom J

This is my first book in the Montgomery Ink series. Whenever I saw the cover for this books I was drawn in and could not wait to find out what all these Montgomery’s are all about. Unfortunately for me, I wish I would have started with book 1 and worked my way into Alex’s story. I felt as if I was missing huge components of his story because I did not know his past. Even though I felt that way I still enjoyed this book. I loved the charisma that came between Alex and Tabby. I loved watching Alex come into himself and watching as he became protective over HIS Tabby. There were a few things with this book that I did not like but overall I enjoyed what I read.

Carrie Ann Ryan has been a name I have heard in the Indie book world but have not read until today. Her style is something that took some getting used to for me but by the end of this book I was a believer. I really think that I am going to go back and read Delicate Ink so I can get a taste of what these Montgomery kids are all about. Especially Maya’s story, because that just seems damn interesting! - Daddy L
