Synopsis
No matter how cruel it’s been in the past, I’ve never been able to flip fate the bird. I’m a romantic at heart. So when fate drops a leather-bound journal at my feet, I know I should walk away. I don't. I pick her up, bend her spine, spread her pages. From the first word, I’m a goner. The owner didn’t give me access to her most intimate desires, but I devour them anyway. Her private darkness, her candid, explicit poetry—it all goes down like warm milk. And from that point forward, I drink, eat, and sleep her.
Halston
I went to his apartment and let him take my picture. Just once, to see how it would feel. I’m not his to look at, to inspire, to touch, but when he watches me through his lens, it gives me a high I don’t want to come down from… My journal is the one place I can be myself—as long as I can tie it up and put it away when I’m finished. But when Finn undoes the bow, he pulls strings that could unravel each of us.

Review
From the very first word of hers I read, Jessica Hawkins has continued to surprise me. Yours to Bare is no different. I found it to be provocative and brilliant. While I wasn’t in love with Finn in Slip, I certainly fell in love with him here. He is alpha to the core, sexy and romantic. He’s finding his niche after having his heart broken. Halston is soul searching, she’s soft and vulnerable. Their relationship felt very real and honest. I loved the chemistry between the two of them. It was combustible. I had to break out the fans with this one and change my panties.
The character development in this
book is top notch. Hawkins continues to
awe me when it comes to her characters.
They are beautifully complex with all sorts of fascinating facets to
them. I love turning each page to find
out which new thing I’m going to learn.
I’m a junkie when it comes to this stuff. The secondary characters are just as
intriguing. Each adds an additional
element to the story.
This book took me on a
rollercoaster of emotions. I went from ecstatic
joys to humor to heartbreaking grief and back again. I definitely soaked through several tissues
on this one. It twisted me up
inside. But I can’t regret it because I
loved the journey it took me on. It can
technically be read without reading Slip
of the Tongue but if you’re an reading order junkie I don’t recommend
it.
If you’re looking for a book with heat that will make you feel, definitely one-click this one.
