I loved him more than life. He broke me and he didn't even know it. I ran from him. He didn't chase me. He never needed to, because he knew I'd come back. He was right. Death brought me home to him. Brett Walker. Drop dead gorgeous and filthy-mouthed with a smile that turns saints to sinners. A casanova to his core. My ex-best friend. And the bad boy whose reputation precedes him—the same reputation I'm tasked with turning to gold... Or so they think.

Review:
So it’s like Christmas all over again! Casanova
is a friends to enemies to lovers all rolled into a second chances story. All my favorite tropes all together, aww I’m
feeling the love! Thanks Emma Hart! This was one book that I was literally
jonesing for. I love these types of
stories. And Ms. Hart did not disappoint. I got everything I love—witty and sassy
banter, tons of sexual tension and lots of heat! Add in a dash of humor and I was completely
captivated from start to finish. I did
not want to put this book down and I didn’t!
Chores, schmores! Let those dishes
pile up!
Lani is a sassy, outspoken, take no prisoners type of
gal. She speaks fluent sarcasm and I
fell in love with her. I want her to be
my best friend. I could completely
relate to her, I was the nerdy and shy girl in high school with the jock best
guy friend that stood up for me. I dated
mine and it ended up not working out but I could still relate to what she went
through as a teen. Brett is a cocky,
sarcastic playboy that is hiding a heart of gold so hard that not even his
family knows it’s there. The banter
between these two was so hysterical that I ended up waking my husband up at one
point. The secondary characters were
just as great.
So what keeps it from being a 5 star read for me you
ask? There were points were the banter/arguing
between Lani and Brett was borderline annoying and edged on being
immature. I understand that when it
comes to love people tend to act a little wonky but I still like to see people
act their age a bit. Also, while the
book was funny and well-written, the overall premise was a bit predictable to me. There few surprises and twists. Overall though, it was an easy read that kept
me laughing and smiling.
If you like a rom-com with great banter, definitely give
this a try. The snark is strong with
this one. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
About the Author:
By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies - usually wine - and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
