So I’m a little late to jump on the L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid co-writing train.  Not for lack of want but for lack of time.  But I’m here now and I’m here to stay.  This was a sweet second chance romance that definitely tugged on the heart strings and got the heart pounding.  The duo was able to effortlessly blend their voices together to mix humor and heart into a story that kept me entertained and amused.  I easily fell in love with the characters.  I’m definitely going to have to go back and read the previous books.

Eilish is a strong, single mom.  She’s sweet, stubborn and sassy when she needs to be and about to join the staff at the team where her son’s father works.  Oh but he doesn’t know he’s a dad.  Bryan is a recovering alcoholic, a homebody and having a wild case of Deja vu when it comes to the new physio.  While his past is a mess, he’s now sweet, funny and definitely sexy.  The relationship between the two of them is a great mix of friendship, romance and heat.  There’s definitely some sexual tension going on but I love that they are building a relationship beyond just the sex.  Both of them were pretty complex characters with interesting backstories and their own strengths and weaknesses.  And you do get to see them work through some of that in the story.  The secondary characters were just as amazing.  I loved all the tweets at the beginning of each chapter and it was fun to see how the teammates ragged on each other like a family.

From what I’ve heard about the previous books, I was expecting a lot more humor.  But that doesn’t bother me much because I think that this one was the perfect balance between humor and heart.  It’s definitely a delightful, light read with low drama.  It’s definitely going on the re-read shelf.  If you like sports romances, I’d pick this one up today.  -Peace and Love, Buxom J
