From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new second chance standalone romance. I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted. I'm done being invisible. It's time to move on. A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He's kind, sexy, and attentive--everything a girl could want. I thought I got it right this time. That my heart could mend, and I would be happy. Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.

Review
These Hennington boys grab ahold of your heart and just won’t
let go. Corinne Michaels has an innate
skill at writing men with alpha tendencies that can do tender moments that just
make you melt into a puddle of goo.
Trent Hennington is no different.
I have to admit that he probably is my least favorite of the three; Zach
will always be my number one Michaels man.
I have been eagerly awaiting this book.
And I’m sad to say that it didn’t hit me in the feels like the first two
did. I’m not 100% sure why, the content
is tough, there are moments that are heartbreaking but I stayed dry eyed
through the whole thing. Please don’t
shoot me.
Grace is a Southern sweetheart, soft and caring when it
counts and hell on wheels when she needs to be.
And she is D-O-N-E with her on and off again boyfriend of twenty
years. She’s got dreams, relationship
goals, she knows what she wants and she isn’t getting it from him. Trent is a walking wet dream, an alpha and
knows he’s done screwed up. The love
these two have for each other is like a living, breathing thing in this
book. You can feel it seeping off the
page. It’s magnificent. The chemistry between them is there too, it’s
passionate and sensual. I loved how
developed the characters were. Michaels
weaved a colorful and interesting backstory for each of them, working strengths
and weaknesses into their personality in a way that felt natural and
realistic. And of course, it was great
seeing the rest of the Bell Buckle gang again.
The only thing that really keeps me from five staring it is
that it kind of bugs me that Grace took Trent’s crap for twenty years. I wish she had wised up and left him for good
earlier. Maybe he would have smarted up
sooner too. Plus his reasoning for
putting her off happened five years ago so what kept him from committing the
other fifteen? As for drama, this is an
angst-filled read; I can definitely say that even though I stayed dry. I bet if I go back and read it again on a day
when I’m not so busy I’ll be sobbing like a baby. It is a breathtaking book and a heartbreaking
one but trust me; Michaels will put your shattered heart back together
again. She’s good like that.
This is definitely going on my re-read shelf with the other
Hennington boys. No matter what kind of
romance you like, you should definitely pick this one up. Michaels’ books are not ones to pass up on. -Peace and Love, Buxom J
