Title: Real Deal
Series: Single Dads Club #1
Author: Piper Rayne
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Too much make-up.
I could go on and on. The other guys in the Single Dad’s Club would say I’m obsessed with finding them. But none of their kid’s mothers call a maximum-security prison home either, so their opinions mean shit.
Caterina Santora has her own list of red flags…
She’s too young.
She’s my client’s daughter.
She’s my five-year old’s camp counselor.
Even after repeating this mantra to myself every morning on the way to Lily’s summer camp, guess what happens the moment I see Cat? Yeah, that mantra turns into ride me, doggie style and reverse cowgirl.
Every. Damn. Time.
The fact that she doesn’t remember me from seven years before grates on me until I don’t have it in me to leave her alone any longer. I have to have her. But our lives are opposites in every way. In no way compatible.
This author duo won me over with their Modern Love series and I couldn’t see what they had up their sleeves next. While Real Deal wasn’t as full of their trademark humor, it was definitely a sweet and sexy story. Though don’t get me wrong, there were a handful funny moments. It just wasn’t as laugh out loud funny. I love the idea of a club of single dads all falling one at a time to love. Now if only I liked all the dads involved….so far we’ve met three Marcus, Dane and Garrett.
Marcus, the hero of this story, was a jerk throughout a large portion of the story and his guilty conscience was a little head scratching. What redeemed him in my eyes was the tender way he was with his little girl. Dads with their kids make me melt every single time. Cat is sweet, sassy, and not afraid to call Marcus on his BS. They have decent chemistry and I think I was helped with the story because I had read the prequel novella. Without it, a reader might get a little confused with Cat and Marcus’ history. The secondary characters were great as well. I do have to say that Dane annoyed the hell out of me. His immaturity and manwhoreness just got on my nerves. I think I know where his story is going and I just have to say I pity the girl.
This story was low on drama. I loved the cameo appearance of Lucas and Tahlia. And I loved hearing about Lennon. I miss that girl posse. It made me want to go back and re-read their stories. I’m sort of dreading Dane’s story but I can’t wait to read Garrett’s. If you like sweet and sexy tales, this may be a good pick for you. -Peace and Love, Buxom J

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two established authors for the price of one. You might be wondering if you know us? Maybe you’ll read our books and figure it out. Maybe you won’t. Does it really matter?
We aren’t trying to stamp ourselves with a top-secret label. We wanted to write without apology. We wanted to not be pigeon holed into a specific outline. We wanted to give readers a story without them assuming how the story will flow. Everyone has their favorite authors, right? And when you pick up their books, you expect something from them. Whether it’s an alpha male, heavy angst, a happily ever after, there’s something you are absolutely certain the book will contain. Heck, we’re readers, too, we get it.
What can we tell you about ourselves? We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
