Release Blitz: Kiss My Boots - Harper Sloan

      image001

In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.

The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

Review

Harper Sloan has helped revive my love of a good old fashioned cowboy.  I had long ago given up on cowboy and western romances but with Lost Rider and now Kiss My Boots, Sloan has brought a fresh twist on the genre that has me panting for more.  Kiss My Boots is full of sass, humor, and a whole lot of heat.  I swear my house was as hot as a Texas summer day while I was reading this.

Quinn Davis is a hell raiser, sassy, and spunky.  She’s also guarded and avoids relationships like the plague.  After meeting her in Lost Rider, I knew it would take one hell of a man to break past her walls.  In comes Tate Montgomery, Quinn’s past.  He is delicious, tender, and determined.  After walking away from Quinn years ago, he’s back to win her heart again.  The two of them are so great together.  There’s plenty of humor, a lot of heat, and some tender moments to tug on your heartstrings.  I loved how well-written these characters were.  They are well-developed and complex.   The secondary cast was just as fabulous.  I loved getting a glimpse of Mav and Leigh’s happily ever after.

There is some drama in the book but it’s rather low-key and not really focused on the relationship.  I love it when an author doesn’t cause unnecessary conflict between a couple and use outside forces to help make the relationship stronger.  I absolutely adored this story and I cannot wait to watch Clay get knocked to his knees.

If you’re up for a little cowboy loving, then definitely pick up this book.
