included. Oh what a beautiful book The Beautiful Now is. It is emotional, heartbreaking, and
breathtaking. I was drawn to it
immediately from the blurb. It’s a
second chances book after all. And I had
an inkling that it was going to be an emotional journey, I just wasn’t
expecting it to go the way that it did.
I was caught off guard and I couldn’t put it down. I was utterly enchanted and immersed in the
story.
Brinkley is a single mom.
She’s sarcastic, fun, and feisty.
Her interactions with her daughter, Celina, made me laugh. I want to be her when I grow up. Brinkley is breaking promises she made to
herself and for one reason only. Her
daughter. Dane James was an outsider in
their small town, the boy from the other side of the tracks. He’s thoughtful, sexy, and tender. Theirs was one of those epic love stories
that just tug on your heartstrings. But
things didn’t go smooth for them. I
loved the flashback chapters, it added such a depth to their relationship and
without them I think the story wouldn’t have been as impactful.
There is drama and feels and crying involved in this
story. And it’s what makes this book so
damn good. M. Leighton wrote some
amazing characters, so well developed and well written that you feel as if you
know them personally. There are
characters you love and those you despise.
If you’ve never read one of her books, this is the one to start with. It’s definitely on my re-read list, I highly
recommend that everyone pick this one up.
