Colton and Gia are from Until June
Colton Allyster is relieved to be back home. After a year of rehabilitation, losing his career as a Marine along with his fiancĂ©, he’s had to learn quickly what’s really important. Colton grew up wanting to serve his country. Managing his parents’ biker bar was never part of his plan, but after meeting Gia Caro, he’s beginning to think that’s exactly where he’s meant to be.
Ever since Gia Caro arrived in the small, sleepy town of Ruby Falls, Tennessee, her life has spiraled out of control. Between losing her grandmother a little more each day to dementia, and her hot boss’s constant attention, her once quiet existence isn’t so quiet anymore.
After weeks of sidestepping Colton, things get out of hand, and before Gia knows what’s happening, she’s spending her nights in his bed and her mornings in his kitchen. And as he cleans out drawers and makes room in his closet, she starts to wonder if she’s falling too fast.
I believe in the BOOM. Therefore, it stands that I’ll read anything of Aurora Rose Reynolds that I can get my hands on. And then when I realized that Falling Fast was about Evan’s friend Colton, I was even more excited if it is possible. I was intrigued by his story when we met them in Until June and I couldn’t wait to see what Reynolds had up her sleeve for him. And what I got was an incredibly sweet story with a crazy ex….in other words what seems to be Reynolds’ speciality.
Gia is selfless, sweet, and a little bit spunky. She drops everything to run to her grandma’s side, completely throwing her life into a bit of a tailspin. Colton is one of Reynolds’ drool worthy and swoon worthy alphas. He’s protective, possessive, and tender with Gia. Colton is just what the doctor ordered for Gia’s heart. Their connection is palpable and their chemistry red hot. Reynolds has a true mastery over her craft when it comes to development. Each of her characters have several layers that you get to see peeled away as the story progresses. The secondary characters are just as great—parents I wish I could adopt as my own (just don’t tell my mama), friends that make me hope I see a book for them, and of course, the mean girl everyone loves to hate.
There is some drama. It wouldn’t be a Reynolds novel without some mean girl drama. But it takes second place to the romance as it should. If you haven’t read one of her stories yet, this is a terrific one to start with. But please make sure you go back and learn about the boom. Whatever you do, you won’t be disappointed.
