It's been awhile since I've delved into a K.A. Linde book. And I clearly had forgotten how well she could pull the emotions out of you. I smiled, I laughed, I giggled, and I teared up. I don't know why it took me this long to read this book! It was so so freaking good.
Sutton is mourning--she's learning to live again after a terrible tragedy. She reminds me of a foal finding her legs. She's shaky, indecisive, and scared. David has been watching her from afar and supporting her from up close. He's tender, patient, and sexy--basically the perfect guy. Their friendship was believable, their chemistry red hot, and the tension is real y'all. Linde has perfected the art of developing her characters--every one, including the secondary characters, have personality, depth, and feel genuine.
This book ends on a major cliffhanger. There's drama, tension, conflict, and I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on the next in the duet. Queue my Violet Beauregarde moment--I need it and I need it now! If you like stories with depth, twists and turns that catch you off guard, and characters what you can fall in love with then pick this one up. I highly recommend it.
