As the top collegiate shortstop in the country, Ryan O’Donnell’s life is about discipline and training. But a growing restlessness causes him to bail on his baseball team over spring break to join his buddies at an exclusive singles resort. He just needs a few days to escape his life, and then he’ll get right back on track. But not twenty minutes after he arrives he meets HER, and the world as he knows it changes irrevocably. It should only be a hookup—that’s what spring break’s all about—but one taste of this sexy, vibrant woman isn’t enough. He has to have her. Even if it’s only for a week.

Sophie Valentine—yes, that Valentine—just found out her siblings want to sell off Crazy Hearts—the Peeps of the Valentine’s Day world. Being the youngest by eight years, she’s used to feeling left out, but selling off her family’s legacy without talking to her first? Not gonna happen. Upset, she takes off with her friends on their spring break vacation. She only wanted an escape—she never imagined meeting HIM. He’s smoking hot and intensely protective of her—and she loves it. But he’s about to start a major league baseball career, and she’s launching a battle to keep the family company. They have no future. It’s just…she’s never felt this way for anyone before.

Are they really going to walk away from this kind of connection…this passion? Or can a week turn into a lifetime?

Sophie reached for the key in the ignition.
His body blocked the sunlight. “Move over.”
“Excuse me?”
Tearing off his sunglasses, he stuck his face into the Jeep, forcing her to lean back. “Move over. I’m getting in.”
Struck by all that masculinity, the scent of sun-warmed cotton, soap from his shower, and whatever shampoo he’d used, it took her a moment to answer. He was a formidable presence, and the energy rolling off him overwhelmed her. “You can teach me from the passenger seat.”
“I’m not going to teach you. I’m driving you.”
“You can’t drive me to the other side of the island.”
“Wanna bet?”
“Why?”
“Because you’re going to get twenty minutes down the road, stall out, and then what? You’ll be stuck on the road in the middle of nowhere by yourself.”
The way he looked at her made her lose her train of thought. “Why are you staring at my mouth?”
His jaw clamped shut. “Because I freaking love your mouth. I can’t stop kissing it, remember?”
Heat rushed up her neck, burning her cheeks. “Yes, I remember. That was very rude of you to bring it up.”
His arms reached over his head, hands clutching the roll-over bar of the Jeep. “Move over, Soph.”
“This isn’t a good idea.”
“It’s happening.”
“I’m not coming back until tomorrow.”
His nostrils flared, but he remained silent.
“And you don’t want to see the volcano.”
“Not really.”
“I’m not missing the waterfall with magical properties.” She gave him a meaningful look.
“No.” His lips twitched. “I wouldn’t expect you to.”
When she didn’t budge, he finally looked her right in the eyes and gave her the most searing look she’d ever seen. The heat, the intensity, ignited a flurry of explosions in her chest. Holding her gaze, he said, “I think you know I’m going with you.”
(Can be cut here if too long)
She may have been a lot of things, but she wasn’t a game player. And she loved the idea that he wanted to be with her. “Okay, but just to put it out there, I don’t need you to drive me. If I really can’t drive this car, I’ll find someone to drive me. The car services might be busy because of the festival, but I’m willing to pay whatever they ask. I don’t need to be rescued.”
“No, but I do.” He sighed. “Are you going to move over or do I have to pick you up and toss you into the passenger seat?”
Why did that idea send a thrill shooting down her spine?
He looked at her. And his restrained expression drew a smile to her lips. “One…two…”
“As hot as it sounds to be manhandled, I’d probably just wind up with a gearshift in my butt, so I’m going to pass. Plus, I just can’t see myself coming out looking all that attractive sprawled over the seat.” She opened the door, jumped out of the Jeep, and then stood before him. “You know this probably isn’t a good idea, right?”
The intensity of his gaze thrilled her. “Buckle up.”

And don’t miss the first title in the Wild Love Series!

About MORE THAN A FEELING:

From the award-winning author of TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT comes the final story in her red-hot Rock Star Romance series, about a loner rocker finding his perfect duet.

When Cooper Hood left Snowberry, Montana ten years ago, he swore he’d never go back to the town that painted him with the same brush as his addict mother. But right in the middle of his band’s national tour he gets a call to come home: his mom’s got a whopper of a secret to reveal.

Daisy Charbonneau’s in trouble. The talent she hired for her resort’s annual Huckleberry Festival just bailed on her, and she’s desperate to find a replacement act. Luck turns her way when she discovers her high school crush is back in town—and he happens to be a rock star.

As they work together, a crush deepens into so much more, but who falls in love in two weeks? Especially when Cooper’s never coming back to town, and Daisy’s never going to leave it.

Review

Some days, I’m just in the mood for an epic romance with a soul deep connection that lasts.  And that’s what More Than a Feeling is about.  Daisy and Cooper crushed on each other in high school, each feeling a connection that was visible to others but neither really taking the leap to tell the other.  Cooper is damaged from his childhood of neglect, guarded and more than happy to live the rock star lifestyle.  Daisy is determined to succeed, settled in her life in their small hometown, and mistrustful of men.  But when Daisy needs him, Cooper steps up while he’s back in town.

And then their chemistry ignites.  These two are soo good together.  There are a few moments where I want to smack them both upside their heads as they are both stubborn as hell but then they do something to get back into my good graces again.  I loved the small town atmosphere, the feel of community that Kelly weaves throughout the book.  There are some deep topics touched on briefly but not so long that the book doesn’t stay in the feel good, heartfelt mood.  The drama is on the light side as well, not overly angsty.  These characters were beautifully developed.  They both had strengths, weaknesses, and insecurities.  The secondary characters were just as great.  There was a wonderful sense of community throughout the book.

I absolutely enjoyed this book from start to finish.  It was heartwarming and definitely a feel good book.  There was just the right amount of twists to keep it entertaining without making it overwrought.  I’m definitely adding this to my re-read shelf.  Now this is part of a series but I hadn’t read the others and it wasn’t needed.  You can definitely read this as a standalone.  That being said, if you’re like me you’re going to want to go out and buy them all after reading this one.

If you’re a fan of rock star novels, I’d definitely pick this one up today.  -Peace and Love, Buxom J

Daisy’s fingers trailed across his shoulders as she breezed past him. Her warm vanilla and honey scent swirled in her wake, and he felt like that boy all over again who’d lived in a state of hyperawareness around her. The boy who’d noticed the way her dark hair pooled onto the desk as she’d hunch forward to write, her fingers curled around a pencil. The way the tendons in her neck strained when she’d hit and held a high note. Her burst of laughter in the music room had made him stop whatever he’d been doing just to witness her joy.

He’d hoarded all those images, those sacred moments, to pull out and comfort him as he lay alone in the dark woods, waiting for his home to be safe enough to go back inside.

She would never know it, but she’d been his saving grace.

Taking her seat across from him, she set two little pots on the table. Her vivid blue eyes sparkled in the candlelight. “Try this.” She held a spoon out to him.

Letting her feed him was just too damn intimate, so he took it from her and fed himself. Creamy dark chocolate filled his senses. “Mousse?” Although it was denser, the chocolate more velvety. Richer. “It’s good.”

“It’s a Pot de Crème.” She scooped another mound for herself. Turning the spoon upside down, she brought it to her mouth, closing her eyes when her tongue touched the chocolate. She moaned, and her tongue swept across her bottom lip.

Desire surged through him, and he couldn’t help wondering if she’d look like that in bed. If she’d go all slack and dreamy-eyed when he sucked a nipple into his mouth.

His blood rose at the image of Daisy naked beneath him, back arching, her hands digging into his hair, holding him to her as if she never wanted him to go away.

She opened her eyes and licked the damn spoon. “I had my mom make it just for you.” The silky fabric of her shirt draped over her breasts, accentuating their round fullness. Desire pulsed through him.

Jesus, would you stop already?

“Let’s try this one.” She slid the edge of her fork into the cake, a cream-covered strawberry sliding out. “It’s my favorite.” The Montana sapphire studs glittered in her ears, and her lush mouth curved into a smile. His dick went hard.

He accepted the fork, but even when the cake and cream hit his tongue he couldn’t taste a thing. Because the only thing in his mind, heart, and body was the primal, urgent need to taste her.

All that teenage longing came roaring back. He wanted her more than ever. And not because she was beautiful and had a body his hands were dying to explore, but because every single cell in his body reacted to her. Wanted her. Yearned for her.

And this was why he’d never come back to Snowberry. He didn’t want to yearn for the things he couldn’t have. Didn’t want to wait for his mother to give him a crumb of her attention. Didn’t want to be around these people who’d only ever looked at him with disgust.

“What do you think? Delicious?” Daisy’s voice yanked him out of the negativity.

And he was damn glad. Because his past didn’t matter anymore. He was a man now. He’d made his way in the world. And he had a chance to be that man around Daisy. His gaze on her mouth, he said, “Hell, yes.”

    mine-for-now-cover

She’s had enough drama in her life.

Nicole O’Donnell is more than ready for the fresh start college offers. After a lifetime of trying to help her alcoholic mom and ex-boyfriend get sober, she’s finally learned her lesson: people don’t change. They certainly don’t change for her.

He can never leave his drama behind.

Thanks to his mom’s substance abuse issues, Dylan McCaffrey’s persona non grata in his hometown of Gun Powder, Colorado. True love won’t be denied.

No matter how determined they are to steer clear of each other, their combustible connection explodes, especially when Nicole offers Dylan the one thing he can’t bear—hope. Once he has a taste of it—and the irresistible force of her—there’s no going back.

Review

I have never read an Erika Kelly book before now and boy am I regretting it.  She spun an incredible tale of the connection between two beautifully broken souls that captivated me from the very beginning.   Mine for Now is a story of learning to let go of the past, grabbing ahold of love and looking to the future.  It explores love, loyalty, family, trust and friendship.   It’s beautifully written, engaging, perfectly paced.  I loved it.

This story hit a little close to home and I could see so much of myself and some of my loved ones within Dylan.  He has such a magnificent soul, a caregiver to his core.  And while some of his behaviors frustrated me, having been in his shoes with a loved one in the past, I understood where he was coming from.   Nicole is quirky and sweet; I couldn’t help but fall in love with her.  The side characters were amazing as well, adding depth to the story.  I want James as my best friend.

There are a lot of feels wrapped up into these pages.  I was lucky to have tissue nearby, I recommend it if you’re a crier like me.  While it wasn’t an ugly cry, there were some definite tears.  I cannot wait to get my hands on the next in this series and in the meantime I’ll be one-clicking away on her backlist.  -Peace and Love, Buxom J

Excerpt

Every time he closed his eyes he saw her. He saw her in his bed, those long eyelashes fanning in perfect arcs on her creamy skin. Or on his lap, straddling him, her face taut with sexual tension. Or, worse, he imagined her on her back, hair spread all over the pillow, breasts bouncing as he slammed into her. Jesus, he ached just thinking about it.

He had to stop this. He had better control over his emotions than this—how else would he have survived this long?

What was happening to him? That first night, when he’d brought her into his bed—he’d felt it then. This connection, this bond. He hadn’t even known her—but he’d felt her. Inside, he’d felt her. When had she become essential to him?

Oh, shit. That was bad. Very bad. No one could ever be essential to him.

What she’d said tonight—about recreating Gun Powder. He had done that.

He’d hated his life back home. The town itself was beautiful, but it was filled with his big, extended family—family that wanted nothing to do with him. They’d given him a choice—him or his mom. Of course, he’d chosen his mom. But that had narrowed his social life to the guys who weren’t going anywhere.

Or maybe he’d chosen those guys because he thought they’d understand his life a little better.

And, yeah, he guessed he had done the same thing here.

But he couldn’t stop thinking about what James had said about what he wanted deep down. He’d never been allowed to think about what he wanted. For him, it was about survival. Nothing else.

And yet, he had worked his ass off to get into a top school. Why? Like James said, if he planned on going back to Gun Powder, why bother with the expense and hassle of Wilmington?

Hope rose in him, a force so strong he couldn’t ignore it. He came here because he wanted more.

Nicole.

He did have something deep down. And that something was a someone.

Holy shit. Adrenaline crashed his system.

Nicole was his deep down. She was his home, his heart.
