Destroying her world. Five years later… Jo finds herself still stuck in the past, unable to find closure with Christopher’s death. When she moves to Austin, Texas, with her son, Junior, she’s finally given the fresh start she’s been desperately seeking. What she doesn’t know is that the fresh start comes in the form of her sexy neighbor, Drew Greyson. Their friendship starts off rocky, but eventually, a spark between them ignites. It isn’t long before that spark turns explosive, and she finds herself falling for him. Drew wants to be her everything, her forever, but will Jo’s pain from losing Christopher stop her from following her heart? Review

I’m finding that I’m quickly becoming a sucker for stories about single moms.  I don’t know if it’s because I’ve become a mom or if it’s because I’m the daughter of a woman who was once a single mom and is now a single mom again or what.  But these stories tug on my heartstrings like no tomorrow.  And Our Forever is no different.  This is a breathtakingly beautiful story about learning to love again after heartbreaking tragedy.  It’s about finding the one that helps you breathe again.  And while I’ve lost loved ones, I’ve never lost the love of my life.  But I’ve watched my mom go through it twice.  And the emotions that Matthews threads throughout the story speak to me because I’ve seen her live them.

Watching Jo blossom under Drew’s attention is a wonderful thing to see.  I love seeing her sass come out.  She’s a survivor, a tough lady and the bond she has with her son is amazing.  Drew is just plain hot.  He’s that sweet, alpha male that is the perfect book boyfriend.  Plus he comes with tattoos.  It’s like he was written to make me drool.  And Jo’s little boy, Junior, is absolutely precocious.  He made me grin so big.  The side characters are also great, adding additional humor and heart to the story.  I especially loved Jo’s best friend Kaelyn.  Everyone needs a friend like that.

This was my first Elena Matthews book and I cannot wait to delve into more of her works.  This one blew me away in its beauty.  There are a lot of emotions wrapped up in this book but the author tempers them with humor.  I highly recommend that you one-click this one today.  It’s worth every penny.  -Peace and love, Buxom J

Elena Matthews is becoming one of my favorite authors whenever I just need a heart wrenching good story. I fall in love with the world that she weaves with her words. I can honestly say I am starting to love a genre other than dark romance and it is all thanks to Matthews and her magic! Something about a story where there is a single parent just gets to me. Buxom J and I have this in common!

Jo is a tough as nails mom who has had to go through something that no mother or lover should ever have to go through. She survived, barely, the death of her soulmate. The man she grew up with and fell in love with was taken from her. THat will harden even the purest of hearts. She decides to uproot her and her son’s lives so that she can give Junior a better future. In doing so she crosses paths with her rockstar neighbor, Drew. Drew is a damn good singer and one hell of a looker. It just so happens he has the sweetest heart as well.

Elena drug me in with her sass heroine and her alpha man and I could not get enough. The characters in our Forever will dig their way into your soul and never let you go. I can honestly say Im not too mad about that. It doesn’t hurt that the sex is hot hot hot. - Daddy L

Excerpt

“I love that I was your first since Christopher, that I was the first to push through those hardened walls that you’d kept in place since he died. There should never be a day when you’re not worshipped, and I can imagine he thought so, too. There should never be a day when you’re not smiling because, when you do, you’re so fucking breathtaking that it literally hurts to breathe. You deserve the world and everything in it. You deserve forever.”

I let out a long sigh while my heart constricts in my chest. “I might deserve forever, but happily ever after is bullshit because forever doesn’t exist.”

“I’d like to put a wager on that.”

I stare at him with utter confusion. “A wager?”

“That I can make you believe in forever again.”

I cock my head to the side, smiling in spite of myself. “I didn’t realize you were such a Prince Charming.”

“I am. I’m just a badass Prince Charming with tattoos and a big cock but one who believes that forever is possible.”

I almost choke on my laughter at the big-cock comment. “Such the modest one, aren’t you?”

“Never said I wasn’t.” He grins.

“It’s a lost cause,” I add pointedly.

“Nothing that involves you is a lost cause.”

“So, what’s the time frame of this wager, and what do I get if I win?”

“Six months and a lifetime’s worth of cupcakes,” he says straight off the bat, almost as if he had been prepared for my question.

I smile before asking my next question, “And, for argument’s sake, what do you get if you win?”

He trails his finger along my cheek. “I get you.”

My breathing falters, and I look him directly in the eyes to see only honesty swimming through his sea-blue hues. I fall in love with his answer, and my racing heart only confirms that.

“Okay, but it’s your loss.”

“We’ll see, sugar.”
